I am ME

Hi. My name is Rachel. I am 42 years old, living with terminal cancer. I’m in technical remission and fight for my health every single day. I am an alcoholic and have been sober for 1,910 days. I have been abused and raped. I have survived loss in horrific ways. I have walked the path of morbid obesity. I have battled with keeping the will to not take my own life. I have experienced things made to build me stronger. I am not always made up and spend a lot of my time not looking my best, because I have always been comfortable in my own skin. As I start seeing the signs of aging when I’m “bare”, it’s only made me appreciate every fight my body wouldn’t succumb to. I am imperfectly perfect. I am a child of our Heavenly Father and of our Mother Earth.
I don’t think anyone has it easy. We all have been equipped to handle the “disrupt” we have in our lives, but we always come out stronger, better, and more Faithful if we allow the lessons to develop within. When you see someone who is making it, tell them you’re proud. Don’t make an assumption they have more tools than you do because in reality, you don’t know what happens behind closed doors. You don’t know the battles they’ve already conquered and you don’t know the fears they face. Let’s build each other up authentically with love, compassion and understanding. We all deserve it regardless of the paths we’ve walked and the choices we’ve made. I hope you all have had a beautiful Sunday. Be grateful. Be kind. Be you. ❤️
